Thunderstruck
Every month our tasters evaluate approximately 40 different coffees. Most of them don’t make it through.. but once in a while.. there’s a truly excellent coffee. A Craft Coffee. Our tasters get so excited and write out some great comments in our cupping notes. This one got an Ef! And if you’re a subscriber, it’s headed your way as we speak!

It’s also our favorite week because we get to see all of our little Tasting Boxes make their way into...

Coffee, lads?
Everything and everyone is going Irish (and green) this weekend, especially here in New York City.
The Irish are known for craft beer, high spirits and of course, Irish Coffee.
We are planning on making ourselves some Irish (Craft) Coffee right about now, hope you can join us!
Alright. So here’s what you need: 1 teaspoon sugar Vanilla extract, if desired 1 1/2 ounces Irish Whiskey 6...

A Beautiful Graduating Class...
It’s almost that time again! Boxes of coffee towering over our desks here at the office means that our March Box is headed to subscribers soon!
As much as we can’t wait to send you our new coffees, we are also sad to graduate our three coffees from Fourbarrel, JJ Bean and Kickapoo. (Is this what teachers feel like when their students leave them?)
So before we do, let’s take a look at a few more...

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee
When the smell of freshly brewed coffee slowly spreads in the Craft Coffee office, we all forget that hour of sleep we lost during the weekend.
Instead, we enjoy the early sunlight and some excellent coffee!
Tell us about your Craft Coffee mornings! Photos, tweets and lemon cupcakes are welcome.

Tasting Notes brought to Life
One of the best parts of working at Craft Coffee is listening as our coffee evaluators tell us what to taste for when we sip a new coffee for the first time. It takes the written notes one step further and makes them that much easier to internalize.
Here, we tried to translate that experience visually. Try taking a sip of this month’s Papua New Guinea from JJ Bean Coffee Roasters, and...

Celebrate Women
Did you know that International Women’s Day started in Russia in the 1900’s? There, it’s still tradition that the men buy flowers for the women in their lives and celebrate them more than they would on their birthdays! And by the way, we love flowers too… but some great coffee will make us really happy.. or a juice.. and a cupcake..
Why not celebrate the woman in your...

Coffee all over our To-Do List
We spend a lot of time talking about coffee, making coffee, drinking coffee and sending people coffee.
Today coffee makes a very literal guest experience on our to-do list.
Our resident coffee expert stopped by the desk to point how beautifully and evenly these beans are roasted, we’ll see how it fairs on the tasting table!

A Cultural Cup
We took some time on President’s Day to check out what was on show at the near by Museum of Modern Art.
We of course loved this surrealist interpretation of a coffee cup by Meret Oppenheim.
Although it’s not nearly as old the Presidential Cup from Monday, we’re surprised how well this 1936 piece has held up!
Have a weird coffee cup to share? Take a picture of yourself...

A Presidential Cup
Do you drink your Craft Coffee in presidential style?
We love the gold details and the history behind this coffee cup which belonged to Abraham Lincoln and is on the view at the Smithsonian Collection.

Like Coffee for Chocolate
We are not ashamed to admit using City Bakery’s Hot Chocolate Festival calendar as a bookmark. Or asking for them to split their deliciously thick goodness into two cups (with two marshmallows).
Today’s Vietnamese Cinnamon Hot Chocolate was definitely worth the trek!
